About me

Physician, follower of evidence, fan of small changes

I'm Dr. Ana Gaby Castro, an internist with specialised training in clinical bariatrics, psychonutrition and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My work combines medical knowledge with a deep reading of the emotional, behavioural and psychological factors that influence how we eat, our weight, and our overall health.

Over the years I have accompanied people who arrive exhausted from restrictive diets, from guilt and from shortcuts. My approach is evidence-based, compassionate, practical and focused on sustainable change — not on quick fixes or impossible rules.

I work specifically on integrating the medical and the behavioural lens so each person can develop a healthier and more sustainable relationship with food. Here I share what I teach in the consulting room: reads, tools and digital products designed to walk with you between sessions.

How I work

Four principles that guide every consultation, every resource and every line I write here.

Evidence-based

Every recommendation is grounded in peer-reviewed medical literature.

Compassionate

Zero guilt. Zero judgment. Your story matters as much as your symptoms.

Practical

Plans that fit your real life, not an idealised world.

Sustainable

Small changes that last a lifetime, not quick fixes.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask me most about my practice.

Do you see patients in person or only online?

I work primarily online. If you're interested in an in-person session, write to me and we can check availability for your city.

Do you recommend specific diets?

No. My approach moves away from restrictive diets. We work on flexible, intuitive and sustainable eating, tailored to your reality and your health.

Do I need prior studies to book?

No. If you have recent studies (blood work, anthropometry, etc.) they are welcome, but they are not a requirement for the first session.

Do you work with adolescents?

I work with adults. For minors, I can point you to colleagues specialised in paediatric nutrition.
